Pretty Sick

A pop, rock and indie night in Boston, with Pretty Sick and Computerwife sharing the bill at Brighton Music Hall, a concert and performance venue.

Pretty Sick and Computerwife share this bill at Brighton Music Hall, a concert and performance venue in Boston. The evening draws on pop, rock and indie, three styles that often overlap: pop supplies melodic hooks, rock a driving rhythmic core, and indie the independent, do-it-yourself approach many of its artists take to recording and touring.

The night suits listeners who want to hear two acts on one bill across these sounds. Indie rock took shape in the 1980s, when independent labels and small venues in the United States and Britain gave guitar-based bands a route outside major record companies. The term now covers a wide range of guitar, synth and songwriter-driven music, which is why a double bill like this one can span several moods within a single evening.
