REGGAETON Y 2000s

An electronic music night in Seattle titled REGGAETON Y 2000s, staged at Chop Suey, a concert and performance venue. It centers on reggaeton and the music of the 2000s.

REGGAETON Y 2000s is an electronic music night built around reggaeton and the sounds of the 2000s, as its title indicates. Reggaeton took shape in Puerto Rico, where the dembow rhythm grew out of Caribbean and hip-hop influences, and it spread across Latin America and into Latin pop during the 2000s.

The night suits listeners who want electronic music connected to reggaeton and to the music of that decade. It takes place at Chop Suey, a concert and performance venue in Seattle.

Reggaeton's dembow beat and the pop of the 2000s share a steady, danceable pulse, which makes the pairing a natural fit for an electronic program.
