Studio Ghibli’s PONYO

An exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles devoted to Ponyo, the animated film by Studio Ghibli, drawing on the studio's materials connected to the film.

Studio Ghibli's PONYO centers on Ponyo, the 2008 animated feature from Studio Ghibli, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The story follows a young goldfish girl who wishes to become human. The display draws on Studio Ghibli materials tied to the film, so visitors can see the studio's work on this title up close.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is a museum dedicated to the art and history of film, and it hosts exhibitions and cultural events in Los Angeles. This exhibition is one of those offerings. Visitors come whenever they like during the period it is open and move through the display at their own pace.

The exhibition suits people who already know the film, as well as visitors interested in Japanese animation and Studio Ghibli's broader body of work.
