Thankful for R&B Ladies Night

A Chicago concert night built around R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, with Gawd and Thankful for R&B Ladies Night on the bill. It takes place at Reggies Rock Club.

Thankful for R&B Ladies Night is a concert billed under R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, a mix that gives the evening a broad range of styles. The bill includes Gawd and Thankful for R&B Ladies Night, the two acts named for this event.

Across these genres, the program draws on the vocal tradition of R&B and soul, the rhythmic grooves of funk, the church-rooted singing of gospel, and the offbeat rhythms of reggae, which began in Jamaica. Each style has its own history, so the night moves across several strands of Black music from the United States and the Caribbean.

Reggies Rock Club hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this evening is one of its concert bookings in the city.
