The Stray Cats

The Stray Cats are a rockabilly trio from New York, and The Midnight Cowgirls share the bill for this concert at Hard Rock Live Orlando. The evening is a rock show in a city venue.

The Stray Cats formed in New York in 1979 and became one of the leading acts of the early-1980s rockabilly revival. The trio consists of Brian Setzer on guitar and vocals, Lee Rocker on upright bass and Slim Jim Phantom on drums. Their 1981 debut album, Stray Cats, included "Rock This Town" and "Runaway Boys," and Built for Speed (1982) featured "Stray Cat Strut." Setzer later led the Brian Setzer Orchestra, a big-band project that took the group's rockabilly roots into swing and jump blues.

The Midnight Cowgirls are also on the bill, so the evening pairs two acts rather than a single headliner's solo program. The concert is built around the Stray Cats'1980s rock and rockabilly catalog and suits listeners who follow that sound, as well as those drawn to the band's early records.

Hard Rock Live Orlando hosts concerts and shows in Orlando, and this rock night is one of its bookings.
