tributes to Slapshot

A tribute concert dedicated to Slapshot, the hardcore punk band from Worcester, Massachusetts, staged at Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge.

This evening is a tribute to Slapshot, the hardcore punk band from Worcester, Massachusetts, and its program centers on that group's songs. The performers are a tribute act, not the original band, so the stage belongs to musicians paying homage to Slapshot's catalog.

The genre is hardcore punk, a style built on fast tempos, short songs and shouted vocals, and it sits at the core of this program. Anyone familiar with East Coast hardcore will recognize the format, while listeners new to the style get a direct introduction to its core sound.

Middle East Upstairs is the Cambridge venue hosting the night, and it presents concerts and shows. The evening suits fans of hardcore punk, of Slapshot, and of Boston-area punk scenes.
