Yallah Habibi Crew

A world music concert by Yallah Habibi Crew at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles, covering the act's genre and the venue hosting the night.

Yallah Habibi Crew is a world music act. The genre brings together folk, traditional and contemporary styles from many regions of the world, and this group performs within that broad field. The name borrows the colloquial Arabic phrase "yalla habibi," which roughly means "come on, my dear."

The Regent Theater in Los Angeles hosts concerts and shows, so this evening is a concert in a theater venue. The night suits listeners drawn to world music who want to see a live group in that tradition in a live setting.

Concerts in this genre are a useful way to hear music from several regions in one evening, since world music draws on many traditions at once.
