About — The artist
Dee Dee Bridgewater, real name Denise Eileen Garrett, born on 27 May 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American jazz singer. Her parents, great lovers of French cinema and theatre, named her Denise (nickname Dee Dee!) in tribute to Denise Gence, whom they deeply admired.
