About — The artist

Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte (Viña del Mar, 2 May 1983), better known by her stage name Mon Laferte, is a Chilean-Mexican singer-songwriter. She plays various instruments and is characterised by the confluence of numerous forms and genres such as the ballad, pop and alternative rock — in her early days she was influenced by heavy metal, mainly as a result of her activity as a vocalist between 2012 and 2014 with the bands Mystica Girls and Abaddon — as well as bolero, waltz, cumbia, reggae and ska, among others.

She has been the Chilean artist with the most nominations in a single edition of the Latin Grammys (five in 2017), and the first to obtain more than these at the aforementioned awards (fifteen on six occasions). Mon has sold more than 7 million recordings worldwide, across albums and singles, which makes her the Chilean artist with the highest sales in the digital era.

In addition to performing at major venues such as the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, Madison Square Garden in New York, the Movistar Arena in Santiago de Chile, the Teatro Gran Rex and the Luna Park in Buenos Aires, she has toured several countries in the Americas and Europe and taken part in festivals such as the Viña del Mar festival, Olmué, Vive Latino, the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, Rock al Parque, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Coachella Festival.

Some of her most notable hits are «Tormento», «Amor completo», «Tu falta de querer» (all three recorded in 2014), «Si tú me quisieras» (2015), «Mi buen amor» (2016–17), «Amárrame», for which she won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Song in 2017, and «Antes de ti» or «El beso» (both released in 2018).
