About — The artist
Alexander Paul Coe (Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales; 4 September 1969), known professionally as Sasha, is a British disc jockey and music producer. He began his career playing acid house music in the late 1980s. In 1995 he teamed up with his fellow British DJ John Digweed in 1993, with whom he has made several international tours and produced a series of remix albums.
Sasha has produced several singles and appeared in the singles charts in the United Kingdom and has remixed several tracks for artists such as Madonna and The Chemical Brothers. His remix of "Watching Cars Go By" by the disc jockey Felix da Housecat earned him a Grammy nomination in 2004, in the category "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical". Sasha's remixes and productions often blend electronic music genres, which makes it difficult for critics to pin down his musical style.
After achieving success as a producer and DJ, Sasha worked with young DJs and producers such as Brian Transeau, James Zabiela and Hassan Jewel, influencing their musical styles and techniques.
