About — The artist
The Black Dahlia Murder (BDM) is an American melodic death metal band, from Waterford, Michigan. The band's name is inspired by the unsolved murder of a young American actress, Elizabeth Short, nicknamed the Black Dahlia, in 1947. The band is made up of singer Brian Eschbach, guitarists Brandon Ellis and Ryan Knight, drummer Alan Cassidy, and bassist Max Lavelle. Trevor Strnad and Brian Eschbach were the only founding members to remain with the band since its formation in 2001, until the former's death in 2022, which led Brian Eschbach to take over on vocals. Of their nine studio albums, five have reached the Billboard 200, including their sixth, Everblack, which debuted at number 32.
