Kurt Rosenwinkel

The Teatro Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa hosts a concert by the American jazz composer and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel on 8 November as part of the Villanos del Jazz series and JAZZMADRID26, the Madrid International Jazz Festival. The musician returns to the capital's stages at the head of a top-tier quintet to present his live project The Remedy Tour in concert.

Recognised as one of the most influential figures in contemporary jazz since the nineties, Kurt Rosenwinkel stands out for a distinctive sonic language that balances rhythmic punch with melodic delicacy and a prodigious fluency for improvisation. After studying at the Berklee School of Music in Boston and cutting his teeth for three years in the band of the vibraphonist Gary Burton, the artist became a key pillar of the American East Coast scene, collaborating on tours and recordings alongside illustrious names such as Mark Turner, Larry Goldings, Danilo Pérez, Chris Potter or Paul Motian.

On this new visit to the city, the artist will be accompanied by a band of immense instrumental weight that brings together Seamus Blake on tenor sax, Aaron Goldberg on keyboards, Joe Martin on double bass and Kendrick Scott on drums. This is a group of top-tier instrumentalists with whom Kurt Rosenwinkel has shared the stage for years, ensuring a highly dynamic live show where everyone has space to shine and improvise.
