La Pasión Infinita

A show with Pepón Nieto, Claudio Tolcachir, Ana Labordeta and Avelino Piedad, written and directed by José Troncoso

Not all dreams come true.

Ever since his eyes first opened to the world, José Antonio's only dream has been to become an actor.

But there is no worse actor in the world than José Antonio. There simply isn't.

Since childhood, aware of his complete lack of any trace of talent, everyone around him has tried to get the idea out of his head. But José Antonio's passion is infinite.

He would give anything for the theatre, he would give anything to be an actor.

Time has passed and José Antonio has married Asunción. And he is not an actor; he works in a salted fish factory while he goes on dreaming very hard.

Neither his wife nor his friends manage to get the idea out of his head. There is no way. José Antonio's passion is infinite.

One day, at breakfast, José Antonio opens the newspaper and finds an advertisement that will change his life and those of everyone around him forever: "Actor wanted. No experience required."

From here on, his infinite passion will know no brakes; nothing and no one will be able to stop him now, there is no way.

José Antonio goes to the casting and, to everyone's amazement, is selected.

The tragicomedy is served.

An up-and-coming director at a very low ebb sees in José Antonio the living reincarnation of the esperpento and will try to turn his own life into a performance piece that will leave no one indifferent.

José Antonio is prepared to give his life for the theatre. José Antonio is prepared to give his life for his passion. And you?

Pepón Nieto stars in La Pasión Infinita, a play written and directed by José Troncoso that brings together on stage Claudio Tolcachir, Ana Labordeta and Avelino Piedad.

“I have always liked using my work to put the magnifying glass on the ‘little tragedies’ of ordinary people. Turning into tragic heroes people who are not usually ‘exemplary protagonists’ because of the apparent insignificance of their lives.”
