XXI Suma Flamenca 2026

Teatros del Canal and various performing arts venues across the Madrid region are hosting the twenty-first edition of the Suma Flamenca festival from 13 October to 1 November 2026. This edition is dedicated to the prominence of women in 'arte jondo' and will include 43 galas, featuring 21 absolute premieres and 12 Madrid premieres.

Suma Flamenca has become one of the most prominent international flamenco festivals. In addition to accommodating the most important artists in this international art form, it has showcased more than 200 young guitar, cante and dance artists, sponsored by the great figures of flamenco.

The 2026 edition adopts the theme 'Flamencas' and uses the image of Carmen Amaya with the aim of examining the presence and prominence of women in the various spheres of flamenco today and throughout the history of this art form.

Teatros del Canal (Sala Verde, Sala Negra and Sala Roja) serve as the festival's nerve centre, although the programme also unfolds in other venues such as the Ateneo de Madrid, Teatro de la Abadía, the Paco Rabal and Pilar Miró cultural centres in Vallecas, as well as other municipalities in the Community of Madrid, such as San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Real Coliseo Carlos III), La Cabrera (Centro Comarcal de Humanidades Sierra Norte) and Rascafría (Real Monasterio de El Paular).

Female and male dancers will showcase research and refinement based in the roots and the avant-garde of their creations. Participants will include Rocío Molina, Israel Galván, Patricia Guerrero, Andrés Marín, Adela Campallo, Karime Amaya, Gabriel Matías, Mercedes Ruiz, Jesús Carmona, Estévez & Paños, Yoel Vargas, Farruquito, Lucía La Bronce, Rebeca Ortega, El Yiyo, Belén López, La Piñona, Claudia la Debla, Patricia Donn and Lucía Ruibal.

Cante recitals will be given by Israel Fernández, Carmen Linares, Aurora Vargas, Ezequiel Benítez, Argentina, Alicia Morales, Capullo de Jerez, Paco del Pozo, Sandra Carrasco and Ricardo Fernández del Moral.
