La razón sensible

Mexican choreographer Shantí Vera premieres a modern dance show on 10 and 11 October in the Sala Negra at Teatros del Canal that uses the body as a territory of discovery and movement as the origin of thought.

Far from conceiving the body as a disciplined or normative model, the creation presents it as an open, changing and constantly transforming space, where all human experience dwells. The piece starts from the idea that thinking is not solely an intellectual process, but also a physical one. Through movement, the body generates new ways of imagining, reorganises desires and allows reality to be established from a more vulnerable and sensitive perspective.

This perception is nourished by the observation of everyday elements: the wind rustling the trees, the southern mountains, the abandoned tyres accumulating on Mexican roads, the colours of the sunset over the Pacific or the grass sprouting through the asphalt as a silent gesture of resistance. All these images reveal nature's capacity to persist and remind us that life always finds a way to break through.

The proposal thus invites us to reconsider the relationship between the body, thought and imagination, defending that new ways of understanding the world are born from movement, and with them other possible ways of living and relating to our environment and to others.
