Overview
Yasmine Hamdan first came to prominence on the music scene with the pioneering Beirut indie-electro duo Soapkills, which she co-founded alongside Zeid Hamdan in the late 1990s.
After moving to Paris in 2005, Yasmine collaborated with Madonna's producer Mirwais on the 2009 project, an album as elegant as it was designed for the dance floor.
Since then, she has earned international recognition as a solo singer-songwriter and producer, weaving together a rich blend of influences: Pan-Arab roots, pop and poetic lyrics, electronic music, soul and melodies with the guitar taking centre stage.
Yasmine has worked with filmmakers such as Elia Suleiman and Jim Jarmusch, and has toured the world to promote her albums Ya Nass (2013) and Al Jamilat (2017). Her latest work is the album I remember I forget.
