Erratic Batting Presents: Knats (Geordie Jazz)

FFO: Ebi Soda, Irreversible Entanglements, Ishmael Ensemble

7:30pm • Tue 27 Oct • Exchange, Bristol

Nick Bodywork from Erratic Batting says:

"Knats are the next band to blow up from the UK's burgeoning nu-jazz scene. Their latest album, A Great Day In Newcastle, produced by Black Midi's Geordie Greep, combines hard Northern graft with jazz, punk and spoken word to create one of the most impressive albums of the year."

-Knats-

Knats are a hard-hitting trio from Newcastle upon Tyne, blending rock grit, fusion fire and floor-filling grooves into their self-styled "Geordie Jazz". Formed by lifelong friends Stan Woodward (bass) and King David Ike-Elechi (drums), alongside trumpet virtuoso Ferg Kilsby, they've been hailed by Jazzwise as "one of the most exciting new bands in the UK".

After moving to London in 2022 to study at Trinity Laban, Knats earned a reputation for explosive live shows, selling out Jazz Refreshed and Rough Trade East, while supporting Str4ta at Jazz Cafe and Theon Cross at the BBC Proms.
