Avocado Presents: An Improvised Play

An improvised comedy play by Avocado Improv, performed at The Green Room at 21Soho in London, in which the story is invented live with no script or prepared plan.

Avocado Improv build a play in front of the audience without any prompts, suggestions or prepared material. The performers begin from nothing, and characters and scenes take shape as the evening unfolds, so each performance follows its own course. The show is a comedy in which the laughs come from the lines the cast invent in the moment.

The production is staged as a live theatre piece in a relaxed register, with the audience invited to follow the action as it develops. Critics quoted by the company describe it as a fast-moving ride with arresting, uncomfortable moments, and one fan review praises the run of lines that follows one another without a pause.

The show suits those who enjoy spontaneous comedy and improvisation rather than scripted plays. The venue, The Green Room at 21Soho, is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows, and the evening is followed by drinks and music for those who wish to stay on.
