CADEL: Lungs on Legs

CADEL: Lungs on Legs is a one-man stand-up and comedy show in which Connor Delves plays the Australian cyclist Cadel Evans at the Riverside Studios in London. It is presented as the London premiere of a play.

The show is a one-man piece built around the 2011 Tour de France victory of Cadel Evans, the first Australian to win the race. Connor Delves takes the role of Cadel Evans, and the production is described as performed entirely on a bicycle, with the story following the highs and lows, setbacks and sacrifices that led to that win.

The material presents the work as a true story centred on the drive and determination of its subject. Its staging, with the performer working on a bicycle throughout, makes the physical effort of the sport central to the performance. The source describes the play as having been set in motion by Connor Delves, who is an award-winning Australian actor, so the production is closely tied to its lead performer.

The show is staged at Riverside Studios, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. It will suit visitors interested in cycling, sporting biography or solo theatre, and those who want a single-performer account of a real sporting achievement.
