Cash: American Recordings starring Henry Wagons

A London concert titled Cash: American Recordings, starring Henry Wagons, a blues, country and folk act, staged at The Grace. The show draws on the music associated with Johnny Cash's American Recordings.

Henry Wagons is presented here as the starring performer of this evening, which takes its name from Johnny Cash's American Recordings, the late-career sequence of albums produced by Rick Rubin from the early 1990s onwards. The programme places the music within the blues, country and folk tradition that shaped Cash's work, with its emphasis on spare arrangements and stories of hardship, faith and loss.

The event is staged at The Grace, a venue in London that hosts concerts and shows. It suits listeners interested in American roots music and in the songs Cash recorded in his final years, presented in the context of Henry Wagons's own performance.

As a tribute built around Cash's repertoire, the evening is not performed by Johnny Cash himself, and the material is presented as a homage to that catalogue rather than as the original recordings.
