Justin Moorhouse: Rockstar

A stand-up comedy show by Justin Moorhouse, staged at The Wardrobe in Leeds. It mixes audience interaction with observational comedy about life on the road and the gap between a comedian's career and the rock-star image.

Rockstar is a stand-up comedy show that asks whether the life of a comedian is glamorous enough to match the image of a rock star. Justin Moorhouse talks about enjoying adoring crowds and standing ovations, then sets them against the less glamorous side of touring: long drives up the M6, diversions, and the hunt for vegan food at late-night service stations.

The routines move widely, from rock stars and superstars to roadworks and supermarkets. A back-and-forth with the audience is a regular feature, so each evening takes its shape partly from the people in the room. The tone is conversational and personal, and the comedy is built on everyday experience rather than on anything grand.

The Wardrobe is a Leeds venue that hosts concerts and shows. The production will appeal to anyone who enjoys observational stand-up with a strong sense of the everyday and a willingness to join in with the performer.
