Larger Than Life: Starring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun and More

An immersive exhibition-style show marking the 50th anniversary of Aardman, the Bristol-based animation studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. It is presented at Lightroom in London.

The show traces the history of Aardman, the British animation studio, from its early experiments by its founders, Peter Lord and David Sproxton, to some of its best-known cinematic moments. It is presented as a behind-the-scenes account of how the characters were made, with attention to the creativity, humour and craftsmanship involved in each frame.

The programme combines archival material with new animation made specifically for Lightroom. The projections cover four walls, each 11 metres high, together with the floor, so the visitor is surrounded by the images rather than watching a screen in front of them. Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep feature alongside other Aardman characters.

The show is aimed at families and fans of the studio's films and television work, and it is presented as a celebration of Aardman's anniversary. Lightroom is a venue in London that hosts concerts and shows, and performances are offered with BSL interpretation and in relaxed format on selected dates.
