The Devil Wears Prada

A stage musical adapted from Lauren Weisberger's novel and the Twentieth Century Studios film, with songs by Elton John, staged at the Dominion Theatre in London.

The Devil Wears Prada is a musical based on Lauren Weisberger's novel and the Twentieth Century Studios film of the same story. The score features songs by Elton John, with lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick and a book by Lauren Weisberger and Kate Wetherhead. Direction and choreography are by Jerry Mitchell, a three-time Tony Award winner whose credits listed in the material include Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Pretty Woman and Hairspray.

The story follows Andy, a recent graduate with ambitions in journalism, who takes a job at Runway magazine working for its editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly. Vanessa Williams plays Miranda. Andy gives up much of her personal life to meet Miranda's demands and gradually becomes drawn to the fashion world she once rejected, raising the question of what she is willing to give up for success.

The name is shared with the American metalcore group formed in Dayton in 2005, signed to Rise Records, whose debut album Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord came out in 2006. This production is a stage musical and not a performance by that band. The show takes place at the Dominion Theatre, which hosts concerts and shows in London.
