Portals Presents: MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS

Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, a Japanese alternative rock trio, play a London concert at O2 Forum Kentish Town as part of a tour promoting their new album, Iwaou.

Mass of the Fermenting Dregs is a Japanese alternative rock trio formed in Kobe in 2002. Working in post-rock and shoegaze, the band builds its music around guitar and melodic pop vocals, and has been signed to Avocado Records since 2008. Bassist and vocalist Natsuko Miyamoto leads the group, which is often abbreviated to MOTFD. Their music pairs dense, layered guitar textures with melodies that lean towards pop.

This London show belongs to an international tour supporting Iwaou, the band's new album, which takes in several regions of the world. According to the tour announcement, the setlist mixes songs from the new record with older material from across the band's career. The concert takes place at O2 Forum Kentish Town, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. The performance is by the band itself rather than a tribute act.
