Showstopper! The Improvised Musical

Showstopper! The Improvised Musical is an improvised musical comedy in which a new show is created live from suggestions offered by the audience. It is staged at the Cambridge Theatre in London.

In this show, the performers build a musical comedy from scratch at each performance, using ideas that members of the audience suggest. The Showstoppers, the company behind the production, turn these suggestions into sung and danced scenes, so the result is different every time and cannot be rehearsed in the usual way.

The listing is aimed at families and is categorised as a show for children. It is a spontaneous, comedic evening with singing and dance rather than a scripted play, and each performance follows the same improvised format. The material describes the company as having developed the act over many years, first at the Edinburgh Fringe and later through a radio series and a West End run.

The production takes place at the Cambridge Theatre, a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. Matilda The Musical is also linked to the listing, as a related production.
