The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal

A new theatre production in London's West End based on the television series The Traitors, in which five plays share one premise but end in different ways. The show is written by John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie.

The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal takes the premise of the television game and turns it into a cycle of five plays. Each one begins with the same situation, but the story develops differently, so that characters who are banished or murdered early in one version can survive to win in another. Each play is presented as a complete drama in its own right, and together they examine how people behave under pressure and when their true character emerges.

The production is written by John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie, and is produced by the team behind The Traitors UK, Studio Lambert, together with Neal Street Productions. Nick Mohammed takes the role of The Host. The staging is a paranoid drama about shifting alliances, and the audience takes part on certain evenings, when they decide which character wears the cloak and so which version is performed that night.

The Gillian Lynne Theatre, where the production is staged, is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. The piece suits viewers who know the television series, though each play is designed to be followed on its own terms.
