A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is a theatre production at The Old Vic in London, Matthew Warchus's staging of Charles Dickens's novella in an adaptation by Jack Thorne. It is presented as a seasonal show.

This production stages Charles Dickens's familiar tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Christmas visits that change him. Matthew Warchus directs the version, which was adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne, who has also written for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the Netflix series Adolescence.

The adaptation was first created for The Old Vic and opened during the Christmas season of 2017. It has returned to the theatre in subsequent Christmas seasons, and has also been staged on Broadway, where it won five Tony Awards, toured the United States and played in Melbourne.

The show suits audiences looking for a traditional festive story presented in a theatre, and is a fitting choice for a family outing during the Christmas period. Its popularity means that seats for this production are in demand.
