AMAPIANOLAND - LDN's Biggest AMAPIANO & AFROBEATS Day Party

A day party at Boxpark Croydon devoted to amapiano and afrobeats, two dance music styles from South Africa and West Africa, presented under the AMAPIANOLAND name.

AMAPIANOLAND is presented as a day party bringing together amapiano and afrobeats in one event at Boxpark Croydon. Amapiano is a South African dance style that developed in the second half of the 2010s, built around log drum basslines and slowed, layered house rhythms. Afrobeats refers to a broad family of contemporary pop and dance music from West Africa, with roots in highlife, Afro-funk and Nigerian and Ghanaian pop. The programme is therefore built around dance music in both styles rather than around a single artist or band.

The event is described as a day party, so the emphasis is on dancing and on a sequence of DJ and live performances across the day. The names of the performers, the running order and any guest appearances are not listed in the information available here, so the lineup should be checked against the event listing before attending.

Boxpark Croydon is a venue in Croydon, south London, that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year, and this event is one of its daytime music programmes. It suits those who want to hear amapiano and afrobeats at a social, daytime pace.
