An Evening With Barbara

An Evening With Barbara is a London concert at the 229 venue, centred on the French singer-songwriter Barbara, who works in chanson française and released a debut album in 1959.

Barbara is a French singer-songwriter working in chanson française. Born in the 17th arrondissement of Paris in 1930, the artist has been active since 1958, and the debut album, "Barbara à l'Écluse", came out in 1959 on the Universal Music Group label.

The genre listed for this evening is pop, rock and indie, which differs from the chanson française tradition the artist is associated with, so the evening sits somewhat apart from that background. The title places Barbara at the centre of the night.

The concert takes place at 229, a concert venue in central London, and is presented as An Evening With Barbara. It suits listeners interested in French chanson and in the work of a singer-songwriter with a long career in that tradition.
