Overview
A dance night at Fox & Firkin in Lewisham, south-east London, where the Earth Groove and Shedding Histories parties join forces. The line-up draws on soul, funk, jazz-funk and reggae.
Earth Groove, a party devoted to music from around the world, returns for this night alongside Shedding Histories, whose varied sound the organisers describe as dynamic rare groove. The evening takes place at Fox & Firkin, a concert and performance venue on Lewisham High Street in south-east London.
Edible, Hiren Parmar, Bena and Chameleonas play together in a four-way back-to-back format to open and close the night. Zaereo, a resident of Worldwide and Radio Alhara, plays a mix of soulful jazz-funk-fusion, while Cosmo Sofi chooses broad-spanning selections for the peak dancing hours.
The music covers R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, and the night is built around dancing, with the energy kept high from the middle of the evening onwards.
