Gipsy Kings by André Reyes

A world music concert, presented as Gipsy Kings by André Reyes, at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. The band's songs draw on rumba and flamenco guitar.

Gipsy Kings are a world music group of Romani musicians with roots in the Catalan Gitano community of southern France, formed in Arles in the 1970s. Their songs combine rumba catalana, flamenco guitar and pop melodies, sung in Spanish and French. Among their best-known tracks are "Bamboleo" and "Djobi, Djoba".

This concert is presented as Gipsy Kings by André Reyes, with the name of André Reyes placed alongside that of the band on this bill. The music stays rooted in the rumba and guitar-led sound that has defined Gipsy Kings since their early years.

Symphony Hall in Birmingham hosts concerts and shows, and this evening takes place there. The programme suits listeners who want to hear the Gipsy Kings'blend of rumba and flamenco-inflected melodies performed live in the city.
