Ibeyi

Ibeyi is a Franco-Cuban duo of twin sisters, presenting a concert at Electric Brixton in London. The act blends pop, electronic and soul textures with Yoruba and Afro-Cuban influences.

Ibeyi is a duo of twin sisters with French and Cuban roots, named after the Yoruba concept of twin spirits. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2015 on XL Recordings, followed by Ash in 2017.

Their songs mix electronic production and soul-inflected vocals with chanted lyrics in Yoruba, alongside English and French. The duo's Cuban heritage, through their father, a percussionist, runs through the rhythms of their music.

Electric Brixton hosts concerts and shows in London. This evening suits listeners interested in contemporary pop rooted in Afro-Cuban music and Yoruba tradition, with the repertoire drawn from the duo's records.
