Incident at Vichy

A staging of Arthur Miller's Incident at Vichy at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston, directed by Melly Still, presented for a strictly limited run.

Incident at Vichy is a play by Arthur Miller, staged at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston under the direction of Melly Still, who is noted in the listing as an Olivier and Tony Award nominee. The production is presented as a strictly limited run, so it suits those wishing to see this particular staging during its short engagement.

The story is set in France in 1942. A group of people is detained in the street without explanation and at first they hope the arrest is only a routine identity check. As they are taken away one by one for questioning, it becomes clear that they were not picked at random but singled out for who they are. The material describes the work as an examination of complicity, responsibility and how people respond to injustice.

The Arcola Theatre is a venue at 24 Ashwin Street in Dalston, East London, and the show is a theatre production, so audiences can expect a drama that focuses on the detained characters and the questions they face.
