Overview
Meute is a German techno brass band from Hamburg, bringing club tracks to the stage through brass, saxophones and percussion. This London date takes place at the Troxy.
Meute was formed in Hamburg in 2015 and is made up of eleven musicians playing percussion, brass and saxophones. The group covers and arranges techno and house tracks for brass band instruments, so that dance music is carried by acoustic horns and drums rather than synthesisers. Their first album, Tumult, was released in 2017.
The act's live identity rests on this combination: a full brass and percussion line-up playing club repertoire in a concert setting. The programme is built from reworked electronic material, and the performance is centred on the band's arrangements of those tracks.
The night suits listeners curious about how dance music translates into a brass band format, and those already familiar with the group's recordings. Troxy is a London venue hosting concerts and shows, and this concert is part of its live programme.
