Nubiyan Twist

Nubiyan Twist, a London jazz and groove act, performs at Blue Note London, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the capital.

Nubiyan Twist is a London-based act working in jazz and groove, combining jazz instrumentation with African and Afro-Caribbean rhythms and the dance-floor pulse of contemporary London music. The band's name points to its links with Nubian and African musical heritage, and its sound draws on the wider lineage of jazz-funk and Afrobeat. The precise details of its discography and membership are best seen in the band's own materials, but its place on the London scene is well established.

On stage, the act's live performances are built around instrumental grooves, with the band's rhythmic and horn-led textures at the centre of the sound. Audiences attending a jazz night of this kind can expect the music to be the focus rather than spoken introduction or theatrical staging.

Blue Note London is a jazz club in the capital that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year, and the evening suits listeners who follow contemporary jazz, Afro-jazz and groove-based music.
