Overview
A concert at Rough Trade Bristol by the Swiss death doom metal band Sadness, with the Brighton screamo quartet Chalk Hands as special guests.
Sadness is a Swiss death doom metal band whose slow, heavy style combines the brutality of death metal with the funereal atmosphere and crushing weight of doom metal. Their music sits where those two genres meet, giving the concert a deliberately weighty and dark character.
The bill also features Chalk Hands, a Brighton screamo quartet. Screamo is a style of emotive, abrasive hardcore punk, so the pairing sets a fast, raw sound against the slower, heavier pace of Sadness. Rough Trade Bristol hosts concerts and shows in the city, and the night suits listeners who follow heavy, extreme music in live settings.
