The Pogues

The Pogues, the British folk rock and Celtic punk band formed in London in 1982, play at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, with Martin Stephenson & the Daintees on the bill.

The Pogues were formed in London in 1982 and combine folk rock with Celtic punk, drawing on Irish traditional music alongside the energy of punk. Their debut album, Red Roses for Me, was released in 1984 on Warner Music Group. The band's music sits within a tradition of Irish and London-Irish song, performed with a raw, rhythmic drive.

Martin Stephenson & the Daintees are on the bill, and the evening pairs the two acts on a single bill at the O2 Forum Kentish Town. The venue hosts concerts and shows across London, and this listing is a concert by the band. Those who know the Pogues'records will recognise the mix of folk instrumentation and punk attack that defines the group.

The night suits listeners interested in folk rock, Celtic punk and the band's catalogue, from its debut album onwards.
