The Pogues - the Very Best of the Pogues

A concert by The Pogues, presented as a show of the band's best-known material, at O2 Academy Brixton in London, with Martin Stephenson & the Daintees as the other named act on the bill.

The Pogues are a British folk rock and Celtic punk band formed in London in 1982. Their debut album, Red Roses for Me, was released in 1984 on Warner Music Group. The band brought together traditional Irish and folk forms with the energy of punk, and this evening's title points to a selection drawn from their catalogue rather than a single album.

Martin Stephenson & the Daintees are also named on this bill. The context does not give details of the running order or of the line-up on stage on the night, so the reader should expect the programme to be built around The Pogues'repertoire.

O2 Academy Brixton is a London concert venue and hosts concerts and shows throughout the year. The evening suits listeners who know the band's songs and want to hear them performed live in London.
