The Streets

The Streets perform at the O2 Academy Birmingham, bringing their influential electronic sound to the city.

The Streets is the musical project of Mike Skinner, emerging in the early 2000s and bridging the gap between UK garage, two-step, hip hop, and electronic dance music. The debut album, Original Pirate Material, was released in 2002 and received widespread critical acclaim for its realistic depiction of British working-class life, spoken-word delivery, and innovative production techniques. This was followed by the 2004 release of A Grand Don't Come for Free, which included the chart-topping single Dry Your Eyes and established the project's signature narrative style across a cohesive, conceptual tracklist.

Live performances typically feature a full band supporting the vocals, delivering a high-energy set that spans decades of material. The repertoire includes breakout anthems alongside later compositions from subsequent studio albums. This concert takes place at O2 Academy Birmingham, a prominent venue that regularly hosts live music and entertainment events in the city centre. The event is suited for fans of British electronic and alternative music looking to hear these defining tracks performed live.
