Overview
The Undertones, the Irish punk rock band from Derry, play at the Electric Ballroom in London. The concert is a chance to hear the group's music performed live in the capital.
The Undertones were formed in Derry in 1974 and are one of Northern Ireland's best-known punk rock bands. Signed to Sire Records, they released their self-titled debut album in 1979, the record that introduced their melodic, fast-paced approach to punk to a wider audience.
The group is associated with the late-1970s punk scene, combining short, direct songs with catchy melodies and sing-along choruses. Their music has continued to influence later guitar bands, and the concert offers the chance to hear that catalogue performed live.
