About — The artist
Cult of Luna is a Swedish sludge metal band, from Umeå, in the municipality of Umeå. Formed in 1998 around Klas Rydberg on vocals and Johannes Persson on guitar, the band draws on a range of musical elements (from sludge to atmospheric metal). They formed following the break-up of the band Eclipse.
Their style is close to bands such as Neurosis, Isis and Breach, although Cult of Luna stand out with a hazier style that can be compared to bands such as Envy or even Explosions in the Sky.
