About — The artist
Teenage Fanclub is a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1989. It was founded by Norman Blake (vocals, guitar), Raymond McGinley (vocals, lead guitar), and Gerard Love (vocals, bass), who shared lead vocals and songwriting duties until Love's departure in 2018. As of 2023, the band's lineup consists of Blake, McGinley, long-standing drummer Francis MacDonald, Dave McGowan (bass, vocals), and Euros Childs (keyboards, vocals).
In concert, the band typically alternates between its songwriters, each given roughly equal time to perform their own songs. Although often classified as alternative rock, the band has incorporated a variety of elements drawn from different musical styles.
Teenage Fanclub has gone through several successive drummers, including Francis MacDonald, Brendan O'Hare, and Paul Quinn. Keyboardist Finlay MacDonald (no relation to Francis) was also a member of the band. As of 2023, the band had released twelve studio albums and two compilation albums.
