Artistically, Silvia Mai's path has been shaped by her encounters with Raffaella Giordano, Silvia Rampelli, Dominique Dupuy, Claudia Dias and Anna Paola Bacalov. After several years away from the stage, during which she came to know and practise life as a shepherd, she resumed her research in the fields of movement and the plastic arts. Already present at Danae in 2021 for LATERALE with Prospettive Animali, together with the dogs Gringo and Eco, she returns to the festival with a project that continues her research into the bond between human and animal.

Eco, from the Greek Oikos, meaning "the house", is a dog. The work originates from, and is grounded in, the encounter with this animal. Through the mutual making of a home between two species, the work probes the boundary between animality and humanity. On this boundary, both metaphor and threshold of every possible encounter, one exposes oneself to another gaze, and in this exposure the work moves between the skin and an inexorable distance, both physical and of the soul. Also relying on directions that go beyond its initial intent, the work follows the path indicated by the living presence of two dogs.

At the end of the performance, there will be a discussion with the artist and Alessandra Monti, a dog trainer and facilitator of the relationship between a dog and its main human, moderated by Alice Strazzi (Stratagemmi Prospettive Teatrali).
