As is often the case, Teatro delle Moire, with Danae Festival, is interested in following the paths of the artistic groups with which it comes into contact.

Already present at Danae last year, ALOT was invited to create a piece that allows the audience to approach the new research of this theatre collective. Founded in Milan in October 2022, the collective is now led by Nicola Fadda and counts 12 other performers under 30.

Since its birth, it has embarked on research into polyphonic songs of oral tradition, inspired by the encounter with Teatr ZAR (Grotowski Institute, Wroclaw). A central element of ALOT's research is travel.

Travel makes it possible to encounter and savour certain mysteries that cannot be unveiled from a distance, to search, to get lost and thus discover new gems of possible theatres.

After two periods of research in Georgia (May 2025 and April 2026), ALOT shares a first crossing of the oral-tradition polyphonic songs of Svaneti, a mountainous region of the Caucasus known for a polyphonic tradition among the oldest still practised in Europe.

In particular, some wordless songs emerge, such as Zari and Kviria, in which the voice seems to exceed verbal language. The songs encountered do not represent the endpoint of the research, but its centre of gravity.

The encounter concludes with the transmission of a song, not as a demonstrative outcome of the research, but as a gesture of sharing a practice.
