Alanis Morissette: Butterfly with a Machete, The LA Residency

A residency in Los Angeles by Alanis Morissette, the Canadian singer whose work moves between rock, pop and progressive rock. The concerts take place at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood.

Alanis Morissette is a Canadian singer whose music spans rock, pop and progressive rock. Born in Ottawa in 1974, the artist released the debut album "Alanis" in 1991 and records for Reprise Records. The 1995 album Jagged Little Pill is among the best-known records in the catalogue, and the songwriting across the career draws on both guitar-driven rock and pop melody.

This Los Angeles residency, titled Butterfly with a Machete, places the catalogue in a single venue over several dates during this visit to the city. The show is built around the music of a singer who has spent more than three decades on the rock and pop circuit, so the evening speaks most directly to listeners who follow the songs across different stages of the career.

The YouTube Theater hosts concerts and shows in Inglewood. The residency suits fans of Alanis Morissette's rock and pop songs and anyone interested in the progressive rock side of the artist's work, with the pop-rock catalogue on one side and the more adventurous material on the other.
