Dancing Queen ABBA Glitter Disco NYE Extravaganza

An electronic New Year's Eve night in San Francisco built around the songs of ABBA, the Swedish pop group behind "Dancing Queen," presented at The Great Northern.

ABBA is a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Their win at the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with "Waterloo" led to a run of international hits, including "Mamma Mia" (1975) and "Dancing Queen" and "Fernando" (both 1976). Their dance-oriented pop, built on layered vocal harmonies, remains a reference point for disco and dance music.

This evening is an electronic event centered on ABBA's catalogue, with "Dancing Queen" in its title and a New Year's Eve theme. The original group is not the performer; the night celebrates their songs rather than a reunion.

The Great Northern is a San Francisco venue for concerts and shows. The evening suits fans of ABBA and of electronic dance music who want to mark the turn of the year with a disco-era songbook.
