The Boo-Over SF

A concert by The Boo-Over SF at The Great Northern in San Francisco. The act's music combines R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

The Boo-Over SF is an act whose music combines R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae. These styles come from different traditions: soul and gospel from African American church and secular singing, funk from the rhythm-driven American music of the 1960s, and reggae from Jamaica, where it took shape in the late 1960s.

The show takes place at The Great Northern in San Francisco, a venue that hosts concerts and shows across the city. The evening suits listeners who want to hear how these genres connect, from vocal-led soul and gospel to the bass lines and off-beat rhythms of funk and reggae. It also suits audiences interested in how these traditions blend on a single bill.
