Jeremiah Chiu 'Edge Conditions' Album Release w/ Maral

A release night for Jeremiah Chiu's album Edge Conditions, with the project Maral on the same bill, at Zebulon in Los Angeles. The evening combines two electronic acts with different roots.

Jeremiah Chiu is a Los Angeles-based synthesist working in electronic music. Alongside solo recordings, Chiu makes textured work as half of a duo with the violist Marta Sofia Honer and co-leads SML, an experimental quintet. Chiu's compositions are built around space: rather than shaping melody or rhythm alone, they steer the listener's attention through shifting textures, nearness, repetition and depth.

Maral blends samples of Iranian classical and folk music with experimental electronic production that draws on noise, punk and post-punk, and dub. The project has released two records, Push (2020) and Ground Groove (2022), both on Leaving Records. Its collaborators include Lee "Scratch" Perry, Panda Bear, Penny Rimbaud of Crass, and Anika.

The night centers on the release of Edge Conditions, staged at Zebulon, a Los Angeles venue that hosts concerts and shows.
