Jim Henson's Labyrinth: In Concert 40th Anniversary

A film-score concert marking the 40th anniversary of Jim Henson's 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth, presented at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. The program focuses on the music of the movie.

Labyrinth is the 1986 fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, with Jennifer Connelly as Sarah and David Bowie as Jareth, the Goblin King. The score was composed by Trevor Jones, and Bowie performed several songs for the film, including "Magic Dance," "As the World Falls Down" and "Underground." The screenplay was written by Terry Jones and Dennis Lee, and the film's puppets and creatures are central to its look.

This concert celebrates the film's 40th anniversary by presenting its music in a live program. The format is a film-score concert, so the evening is built around the music of the movie rather than around a band's own repertoire. Audiences who know the film through its songs and its fairy-tale world will recognize much of the material.

The concert takes place at the Lincoln Theatre, a Washington venue that hosts concerts and shows. The program is aimed at fans of the film and of its score, as well as those discovering the music for the first time.
