Led Zeppelin 2: Jimmy's Picks Birthday Bash

A tribute project dedicated to the music of Led Zeppelin, presented at House of Blues Chicago, a Chicago venue for concerts and shows. The event is titled Jimmy's Picks Birthday Bash.

Led Zeppelin 2 is a tribute act, not the original band. Its repertoire draws on Led Zeppelin, the English rock group formed in London in 1968 by guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. Their 1969 debut album and the 1971 album Led Zeppelin IV, which includes "Stairway to Heaven," are among their best-known records. The group drew on blues and folk, and its heavy, riff-driven rock sound shaped much of the hard rock that followed.

The project is listed here as an electronic act, and this evening is billed as Jimmy's Picks Birthday Bash. Its name places the focus on the Led Zeppelin catalog, and the program is built around the group's songs rather than original material.

House of Blues Chicago hosts concerts and shows in Chicago. Listeners who follow Led Zeppelin's recordings are the natural audience for a tribute of this kind, especially those interested in hearing that catalog performed by another act.
